Training and coaching
JWM Shooting range is a fully accredited public shooting range which is available for accredited firearms instructors to use for the practical shooting exercises they need to conduct with their students.
Our ranges are also well suited for security companies to conduct “Regulation 21” shoots.
Vehicles can be driven onto most of our ranges, which also makes them suitable for training cash-in-transit crews, courier crews and close protection teams.
Coaching classes
We offer one-on-one skills enhancement and coaching classes in the following categories.
First time gun owner: Familiarisation
So you went through the required training and have finally got your licenced firearm. But still not comfortable that you can use it properly?
This coaching class is aimed at making you more familiar and comfortable with your firearm and teaches you some tips and techniques to make you a more effective shooter.
First time hunter:
Going hunting for the first time? Let us take a day and coach you on essential skills needed such as shot placement, distance estimation, shooting positions, trigger pull etc. This coaching class is especially suited to young boys and ladies about to embark on their first hunt.
Reloading Ammunition:
Reloading your own ammunition can save you a lot of money and is a very satisfying hobby. However, before you embark on this route, spend a morning or afternoon with us to learn what it’s all about, what equipment is needed and what you can expect to get out of reloading your own ammunition.
We also offer consulting for already equipped and practising reloaders with regards to load development, solving problems etc.
Defensive/ Offensive shooting:
This coaching class is aimed at self-defence only. Should you own a self-defence handgun that is licenced in terms of Sect 13 of the FCA, this class is for you.
We look at issues such as the law, carrying techniques and options, ammunition choices, environmental awareness, target identification, speed and gun familiarisation.
Tailor made coaching:
Do you have a specific need or requirement with regards to use of firearms? Contact us for a tailor made coaching class, or we can refer you to a suitably qualified firearms instructor that can assist you.
